During the early days of Covid 19 pandemic in 2020, 5 bikers from Northern Ireland formed a vision to use motorcycles and their riders to help the community in Northern Ireland through lockdown by delivering urgent medication, PPE and essential supplies through NI and indeed beyond with deliveries to Ireland, collections in Scotland, England and even Norway to support the NHS.
The call went out and in a matter of weeks over 200 motorcyclists jumped to action and joined the journey and by July we were well on our way to 2000 deliveries and over over 50,000 miles clocked up and 5000 hours of volunteering between the team, helping out hundreds if not thousands of people directly or indirectly.
With the virus still causing issues in 2021, we have now regrouped and focused our efforts on getting medical supplies to the vulnerable or who have no support. We expect to help many more in our community as a result.
Our deliveries are strictly COVID compliant and essential journeys only.
The biker community in Northern Ireland stepped forward to the challenge of helping our community, rapidly and without reserve.
We thank each and every rider who volunteered and still now step forward to help in the best way we can.
Thank you for the support.
Michael, Phil, John, Paul and Richard and of course every member of the VBG Team.
